What are your thoughts on people who self-taught themselves HTML?

I feel it is always amazing to hear about those who self-taught themselves anything and that is no different with HTML, I taught myself HTML and have found that I know enough to be able to do what I do with the websites I own and build.

What are your thoughts on those who teach themselves HTML?
