Hello to all

MacNala

New member
I am a retired IT consultant.
I started working with a computer at University when computers were new and very expensive.
The University of Strathclyde as it became known in Glasgow in the early 60s where
I studied Mechanical Engineering and Aerodynamics and used the machine to examine wind tunnel effects
at Mach 3.
Graduating in 1964 with an Honours Degree.
I was also employed during the holidays by Rolls Royce as a graduate apprentice.

My next contact with computers was when I quit RR and joined IBM in 1968.

Various jobs after excellent training but eventually leaving to take up a post as technical manager for
a Kuwaiti bank. I came back to the UK and joined a container shipping company.
That came to an end when the company relocated to Felixstowe. Using my experience and knowledge I
took up a position as a consultant to a large international company in Germany, spending 4 years working myself
out of a job, literally.
Back to the UK I had numerous jobs for a consultancy firm. The final one being in an industry I cannot talk about.
