I have a basic, working knowledge of HTML, enough that I can design a website, but I know nothing about Javascript, outside of finding script generators for special effects and other treats. I am ready to learn more, but do not know where to start.

I hope to learn a little while hanging out here, but I also want to make friends, and to contribute where appropriate!

Hello Mercy, nice to have you here. I am also looking to learn, although my knowledge is even smaller than yours. Might I suggest Codeacademy if you don't already know about it for learning about Javascript.
