Blackhat SEO

There was a time when I used to think that all as fair in SEO, and in trying to get traffic to your site, but It seems that Google don't like some techniques enough to punish the blog or website owner who had employed the blackhat techniques. I recently learned about hiding keywords in the background color of your site, and I thought that it was an amazing idea, especially since meta keywords really aren't all that important anymore. Basically, the keywords in your blog or website content is all that you have in order to get your site ranked, as search engines aren't really all that concerned about meta keywords anymore.

I then found out that if Google catch you doing this, they will de-index your site.

So my question is, do you use blackhat techniques in order to drive traffic to your site?

SEO in general IS blackhat. It's manipulating the serps to raise ranks, so there is no difference between WhiteHat & Blackhat SEO. The tactics you listed above are very old (like 04-08 old) and they don't work. I wouldn't suggest using those techniques in normal consumer niches like (weight loss, etc.) but in pharama/viagra/gambling niches, you'll have to use blackhat techniques in order to rank. (Mass spam, door way pages, malware, botnets, etc. )

I assume you're a noobie to SEO, so I wouldn't recommend using any of the techniques I listed above because without the technical know how, you will get penalized. Just build some high quality backlinks to your website, and eventually it will rank. Remember SEO takes time and effort in order to work.

The concept of hiding text by using the same color as the background was well known 15 years ago, and all search engines have been wise to it for a long, long time. Black Hat SEO is a game of cat and mouse, with Black Hat practitioners pioneering a new technique, exploiting it while it lasts, and finally abandoning it when Google implements countermeasures which usually include banning illegally inflated sites.

To further complicate matters, what is considered White Hat today may become Black Hat in the future. Broadly speaking, the only way to legitimately boost your SEO is by ensuring that you have good quality content that people will naturally want to link to.

I only found out about this technique a few days ago, but then again I am fairly new to internet marketing. I will agree with you about the game between blackhat and search engines being a game of cat and mouse. it is the same for hackers who create new viruses, and anti-virus systems. They create new trojans and it is only a matter of time before it is patched.

With things like meta tags no longer making much difference as far as getting you traffic, then I think that white hatters may turn to black hat techniques. I have been tempted to in the past, because y content quality is top-notch, but other sites will still rank higher. The waiting for your site to rank higher is annoying. But then I can't complain because Google is one of the most accurate search engines - if not the most accurate. So I guess I can't moan that they use these measures to prevent low quality search results.

There are things online that are dedicated to blackhat. I have read some of the stuff, like using adult content to drive traffic. I think it is a useful idea but would I do something like that? I think most likely not. I do not want to be doing anything that is considered unfair or be given an unfair advantage over another person who is doing the ethical or right thing. Also, there are copyright issues and the list goes on and on for blackhat SEO. I think it is safer to play on the right side of the track.

How would one use adult content to drive traffic to their websites? And why would that be considered a black hat technique? If something was going to make me money through traffic, then I would get traffic to my site any way that I could, regardless of whether it was black hat or not. if it is legal, I would do it. I don't care about getting an advantage over the other person, or whether that is ethical or not. Do you think they are concerned about me? LOL! Nope. When you have to make money, you will make it any way that you know how, and black hat methods are usually the fastest ways, as opposed to the long-winded white hat methods.

I think as long as you're using something legal, it's fair game. There's a line for ethical things. It's not really hurting others when you use these techniques, is it? I'm also curious to know how you would use adult content to drive traffic. Are you talking ads or..?

Well, the way that Google sees it is that you are hurting other people by employing these black hat techniques, because if you are either keyword stuffing your spam site or hiding keywords in the background color of your site, then you are disrupting the ranking system of how it should really be. Google prides itself on providing one of the most accurate search engines and results, and they do that well. Say you have ranked highly because of your black hat techniques, and a site with a higher quality of content doesn't get as much traffic because your site, which is low quality content, is getting most of the traffic; users suffer because they are not getting the information that they used Google for, and Google suffer and become known as a search engine that gives irrelevant results.

I avoid blackhat SEO by focusing on content. Search engines want and need content and I doubt they will ever punish your rank for it. So work on content and forget the rest :) Sure promoting a website is good but as long as you are promoting it on other sites that are relevant to your niche. All those free directories are not doing anything for you... Xrumor and other scripts will only harm you site, keywords are a thing of the past... CONTENT will always be king because that is why we get on the internet, to read and learn about new things.

What you're saying is true. There will always be a demand for information, which translates into content. I don't agree about keywords being a thing of the past. Meta keywords maybe, but not domain keywords and contextual keywords. They still very much have their uses. It takes so long for your site to rank, if you do things the white hat way. Has anybody ever mixed ethics and kind of put on their grey hat in order to get their site ranked higher?

Well domain keywords sure, for the human side of things. However, be careful on using too many SEO tactics as Google has said it will result in being penalized. You should also look up the article about Google's human reviewers that look for sites and decide whether they are real or just attempting to rank higher in search engines! Its not just spiders out there, its actual people ;)

I think that it's pretty annoying tat people are actually sitting out there looking for websites that are either real or fake. It's so annoying that you have to laugh at it. On the other hand, how do I get a job doing that? It's got to be cushy, hasn't it? Hahah. SO what do Google do if they think that your site is 'fake'? Do they just de-index you, or try to get your site taken down. Since Google know and own everything, I assume they could do this.

If you want quick financial return on your website then use Black hat SEO rather use a long-term investment on your website avoid Black hat SEO because Black hat SEO techniques include keyword stuffing, invisible text and doorway pages.

I avoid blackhat SEO nowadays, by which I mean that I would rarely buy traffic or any other method or service of that nature. Other than that, I pretty much just try to make my site and SEO as organic as possible, as I think having a good site and a good campaign should be good enough to warrant a good amount of traffic and income.

Blackhat SEO techniques are not a good practice to improve traffic to the website. Black hat SEO techniques will not follow google rules and guidelines if we attempt blackhat SEO techniques google will penalize or block the website ...

Yeah, I would avoid blackhat SEO at all costs, dude. Google are getting more clever with every day that passes. It really isn't worth the manual action that comes with it.

I've known many people to fall into this trap. I definitely wouldn't advise it, it's just not worth the risk. Parasite SEO is good, but very short-lived.

If you are getting traffic for your website by using black hat SEO techniques then your website will get penalized soon by Google because you are making backing beyond Google guidelines, So if possible avoid it and remove all bad quality backlinks and start work as Google guidelines and make quality backlinks. You will get results later but your website will never be penalized by Google and you can get traffic for a longer time.
