Who Is ready To Show Me How To Create A Nice Logo?

Okay, I'm pretty much good with few image packages to some extent. But, I really find it hard making a nice logo. Maybe, its cause I feel there is an easy way of doing this.

You know I'm not really good in drawing, and I've a hunch its probably going to be achievable with one of those drawing tools. However, some logos are just way too nice and smooth to be the work of those drawing tools. Please, is there available plugins or something that turn text fonts into some kind of really nice style for logos? OR what other ways are available for making nice logos? And how do I go about this?

Here's a few logos I have done:

Its quite simple really, use photoshop or whichever image editing software you use to apply different effects to the text, choose an elegant and easy to recognize font and perhaps integrate a small icon design in there somewhere (although not mandatory).

However if you're looking for something for a specific project I do work at a reasonable rate

Thanks for this. I guess I'll just have to download more nice fonts to use. IMHO, I do think those small icons are needed to make the logo stand out. But, the rook and tree in your logos, you downloaded them, re-sized, then filled them with color, right?

In my opinion, there aren't much free tools you could use that wouldn't be also used by thousands, if not millions of other people, which totally defeats the purpose of a logo. However, if it's just a hobby type of thing then I'd say it's okay to use templates and free tools, and if not you would like something more professional looking then just look around for designers with a nice portfolio and a reasonable price. Logos aren't too expensive nowadays anyway, unless you really want to go with the more professional ones.

This is true. But, my wanting to learn how to make a logo isn't really about the money. It is just that, sometimes it is better for one to be able to make his own art. This is so 'cause, sometimes no matter or you tell people how you want something done, you might never get what you really want. However, if you could do it yourself, then you'd interpret whatever is going through your head into your desired design.

I believe both of those fonts came stock with Adobe Photoshop although there are some nice fonts freely available on the web if you are looking for something specific.

For the icons, that's exactly what I did actually. The rook was actually a picture of a real chess piece but the tree shape I drew myself.

I am curious to understand which programs rival Photoshop and Adobe products? I have a very limited budget and it would be nice to have a choice of free or inexpensive programs that could be used to create logos and special text items.

A free Graphic Desing program that I have used recently is Vectrian Giotto. I tried to no avail to understand how to use this software. I recently went to the ASTD TeckKnowledge conference and that is when i realized what my mistakes were. I am a hands on leaner and the written tutorials were not enough. i was able to attend two classes and learn from great teachers. I have sensed practiced and I feel that I am getting closer to understanding these programs and how they work.

You can now purchase the Adobe suite for ~$15 per month. It is definitely worth it if you're aspiring to become a graphic designer. From personal experience and being in the industry myself, I would definitely say that the investment is well worth it as it's the widely known and used programs for graphic designers. Files are easier to send & use as well.

I love using Adobe Illustrator for logo design. It's so much easier to edit when need be!

There are quite a few different things that you can do to create a nice logo. As your not that great with graphics designing, I think you should consider using a logo generator. This is where you enter your text and choose the design of the logo. It will then be automatically generated and you can use it for your site/business. The only problem is that they don't always look great. If you aren't looking to invest any money into graphic design programs, you could always use this site called Pixlr which is an online graphic design tool. You can easily put icons and text together to create a nice looking logo very easily.

In designing a good logo, there some things you need to put into consideration. But I think the first consideration should be simplicity. This aids recognition, especially when so many brands are competing for our attention. You want to give onlookers the opportunity to recall a mark after just a quick glance, and that’s not possible with an overly detailed design. A trademark has to be focused in concept – have a single ‘story’ – and in most cases must be uncomplicated in form. This is because it needs to work at a variety of sizes and in a range of applications, from a website icon in a browser bar to signage on a building.
