Yes, it’s very difficult to get links from high authority sites which is why they remain high authority and not become link farms because they don’t allow links to low authority sites. If you’re selling motor bikes, what do you think the chances are of getting a backlink from a .gov site? In fact, why would a high authority site want to give you a backlink anyway?
Occassionally, I pop over to ‘Black Hat World’ (BHW) to see if anyone is talking any sense. BHW was specifically setup for scammers and spammers to advertise their wares, although it tries to lure people in with practical advice. Here you will read wonderous tales of buying their high authority backlinks which they guarantee will get you on page one of Google. They’re scammers and what you’ll get is a pile of rubbish to other low authority sites.
Never buy backlinks and if you look at the websites of those trying to sell them you’ll find they’re low quality themselves which if they did have access to high authority backlinks you’d think their site would be ranked as high quality as well. They also share backlinks amongst themselves, which is why all their sites remain low quality and no reputable site will go anywhere near them.
There’s nothing wrong with sharing backlinks to another site of roughly the same ranking and genre as yours, but no high authority site is going to give you a backlink unless you cross their palm with a lot of silver.
