    What's the best serverside language to learn for small sites?

    Is PHP or Python or Perl or Ruby or etc better? I need to make a simple site, which has some serverside programming required, but I'm not sure which one would be best to learn for it. What do you guys think?

    Well, there /are/ ways to do it in plain HTML. They're not /good/ ways, but they're doable. I would highly recommend using Javascript, this is what it's made for.     If you could change HTML...

    I'd make <blink> have never became a thing. Ever. And <marquee>. Thankfully they're gone now, but why did they ever have to exist?...

    IDE for HTML?

    I just use Notepad++. Highlighting, tabs, spellcheck for the actual text part, that's all you really need. IDEs are overpowered for such a simple language.

    Where did you learn HTML?

    Might be a horrible source, but w3schools is where I learned the basics of it.
