    Browser compatibility and CSS hacks

No, I haven't looked into that aspect of site development yet. At the moment I just check with the current versions of Firefox, Chrome and Opera. I don't even check for compatibility with IE.

    Google Plus

I read somewhere that Google leans towards sites which have Google+ ratings. Can't really verify this, though. On my own sites, putting in the Google + button is more or less an afterthought.

Does your site have a Facebook Page?

Yes, I do. It's very convenient to have a Facebook page for each site. Sometimes, I will start a Facebook page first. Sort of like some kind of pre-launch promotion. Then after I have drummed up some interest in the site, I buy the domain name and start the site.

    What Constututes Wisdom?

I am not really sure if people with money are wise. However, I am very sure of one thing. They can't be really that stupid if they have all that money. That's assuming that they made that money and did not get it by chance. As for being unwise to believe in God, that's debatable but this is not...

    Spamming

No, I have never intentionally spammed. Maybe sometimes I get somewhat over-active on some forums but it had never been my intention to spam. I believe that I can write well and somehow the idea of spamming doesn't quite resonate with my image of myself. Why spam when I can, say, write 20...

    Inkscape?

Yes, I have used Inkscape. In fact, that's what I use most of the time to do my graphics. Other than using GIMP. Of course, I am on Linux. Debian 6 64-bit, actually. Inkscape is a very capable program. In the hands of a skilled graphics artist it can do a lot of wonderful work.

    Jobs aside from your website.

No, nothing on the side. My online work is the only work I do now. There are times when I am tempted to re-start some of my brick and mortar activities. However, when I think about it for a second time, I go back to my online work. This is the life I have chosen and I like it this way.

    Science and Religion

I was not raised in a religious family at all. In fact, we don't have any kind of established religion to follow other than cultural traditions. When I found the religion I could follow, that became the basis of my life. However, I am also trained in science, especially computer science. So I...

    Besides the website stuff

Other than working or playing at my computer, I go for long walks. That's just about the only thing I do other than the website stuff. When I go out, I sometimes don't even take my phone along. It's kind of like getting away from all the technology stuff for a change.

how much do you charge per hour vs experience?

I have never charged by the hour because it doesn't fit in with the way I live. When I do a job, I do it on a fixed price basis. If it's a small job, I will collect on completion of the job. If it's a big job, I will negotiate for a start-up payment plus milestone payments.

What web hosting services to use?

Did you say iPage? What a coincidence! I have just found a free reseller program which is run by iFast. Now I wonder if there is any connection between iFast and iPage. The reseller program is very well-done, too. Just submit your domain name and Presto! you are suddenly the owner of a free...

    Marketing on Yahoo Answers

No, I haven't done that kind of thing. And I don't think I need to. I have just registered an account with Yahoo! Answers. There are a lot of questions which I can help to answer, so there's no need to create my own.

Forum signatures: a good way to advertise?

Once I had been paid by someone to set up a forum account and put his signature on my link. Then after I have built up the account to the number of posts he wanted, he paid me and took over. I am not sure what he's doing with it now. That's the only one time that I did such a thing. I felt...

    Nice forum theme!

Is this a custom-made theme? It's looks pretty straightforward to me. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to be. Still it serves the purpose. The focus of this forum should be the content not the looks.

    What Constututes Wisdom?

Wisdom has a lot to do with experience. It's not just about knowledge. It's about having seen a lot of things. Then you will have a framework to make your next decision. As to whether you have made a wise decision or not, only time will tell. Which is why people who have been around for a long...

    Clients from Hell?

Well, not exactly from Hell, but I could have done without such clients. I met him when I was running my own computer shop. He brought in a computer which couldn't boot up properly. I took it apart and put it back together again. This time, the computer died completely. He demanded that I make...

    Sites you wish you built

I am not much into looks but I get awed by activity and content. In this respect, there's one site which I look up to as a model. This is WebHostingTalk. It's a very active forum. At any one time, there are thousands of members online. And many are very active, too.

Guys, what do you think of Bootstrap

I have just installed it in one of my experimental sites. So far I haven't really noticed any difference yet. I probably will have to load more content before there is any significance difference.

    Html5

Somebody told me that with HTML5, we can do without flash. Is that true? If it's true, that should be good news because flash tends to slow down the page load speed by quite a bit.

Any good tutorials on learning Web Fundamentals?

Yes, CodeAcademy is pretty good. I have tried some of their lessons. W3Schools is also good. W3 approaches the tutorials in a somewhat different way from CodeAcademy but you still get to try your hand at the things you learn, bit by bit and there's the quiz to check on your retention of the new...
