    Lesser Known Social Sites

There is MyLot that used to be a revenue sharing site but a few months ago stop paying its members and switched into some kind of social media site. I don't know if people are still using that site or not. It's not as known as social media site as Twitter or Facebook but maybe there some...

    How Often Do You Code?

Don't worry, it's just like riding a bike! Well, maybe it's not quite as riding a bike but with a little practice you should be up and running just like you where on 2009.

What would you not do for revenue?

I agree with every single point of your post with just a difference. I dislike Adf.ly links but I won't mind clicking on some of those links if I'm getting something good in return. I have seen people using those links to promote file download. If the file that I'll be downloading is something...

    Minimalism

I'm just like Victor Leigh, I'm not a designer so for me the less designing I have to do the better. But even on the sites by other people I like minimalistic designs. I like clean and simple user interfaces. I like the way Google design its interfaces and its sites. I can't tell how many times...

Best ways to promote my adf.ly links?

I think a good way to promote adf.ly links is by using that kind of URL when offering downloads. If the download is worth it then your users and viewers won't mind the wait time. And if the download gets popular you are going to be making some good money. As DrRipley said placing that kind of...

    How Often Do You Code?

I'm doing fine with 20 minutes although there's not much that I can acomplish within that time constrain. I'm just trying to develop a habit.

A question about learning HTML from the ground up

Also you can take a look at some HTML tutorials like the ones from W3C Schools. The nice thing about HTML is that it is pretty simple and it is very easy to learn. Then take a look at some CSS and you'll be able to create some nice looking static sites.

    IDE for HTML?

Sublime Text 2 is available for free. Sure you can purchase the license, but there's no need to doing so in order of using the editor. The only difference is that with the free option you are getting asked every once in a while if you would like to buy the license but if you don't buy it you can...

    How Often Do You Code?

I have a similar problem. I work full-time during the day and when I get home I want to spend some time with my wife and daughter. That's why I code late at nights when there's nothing else to be done around.

    How Fast Do You Type?

If you want to know how many words per minute you type check out the site http://10fastfingers.com/. Last night I give it a try and I typed 80 words per minute. Not to bad I guess.

Any Good Place or Book for Learning Object Oriented PHP?

I read Sitepoint's PHP & MySQL Novice to Ninja and while it's not the best to learn object orientation it has a really nice introduction to OOP concepts with PHP. But maybe that's not what you are looking for hehe

    IDE for HTML?

I haven't used an IDE for a long time. The last time I ever used one was around 2010 and the one I used was Nvu. I believe it's no longer being maintained and its development has been discontinued. As far as I know its replacement is called KompoZer but I have never tried it. I like using text...

    How Often Do You Code?

This is a trick question. I think it's just like with anything else, it would all depends on how motivated you are on learning how to program/code. If you need to learn you'll do it fast. But even if you have the need and the motivation "mastering the art" can take quite a long time. Check out...

    How Often Do You Code?

I'm just like you Cybergenius. Sometimes I don't seem to find the time to do what I want. I haven't done any real coding for about 4 months. This last week I tried to just sit down and code at least for 20 minutes at nights. It seems it's working. I hope this will help me get back on track and...

Can you recommend a good tutorial or book on PHP?

You are right about Youtube. There's pretty much everything we need to learn whatever we want. But there's also a problem there. It's easy to find video tutorials but it's hard to tell wheter a tutorial is good or not. Do you know of one that you can recommend?

Is it worth it to learn PHP OOP?

I think you should try learning OOP with PHP. You say you hate learning new programming languages but you won't be learning a new language. You already know PHP and are familiar with it's sintax, you will only learn a new paradigm, a new way of doing things with the language.

How long have you been using html?

I've been using HTML for over 12 years now. I first started using it during highschool before taking any class on web design because some friends of mine knew how to create webpages. It's been a fun ride all these years but I'm far of being an HTML expert. I'm still learning every day.

    Free or Paid host?

I've been recommended against doing this (using a free subdomain) because if the site ranks high on search engines and you decide to switch to your own domain you have to do all the SEO work once again to get the good domain ranked.

Could I make this voting system with PHP?

Of course you can do this with PHP. To know the IP address you can use the environmental variable REMOTE_ADDR. Check out this site to see how to use it: Determe or Retrieve Visitor's IP Address using PHP Script.

    probably something simple

About the fonts, I think Safari and Chrome does not have trouble with because they both use Webkit as render engine. I believe you must have solved your problem because I just visited the site using Firefox y everything looks good.
